MARCH 14, 2012 A LONGER LIFE

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

"In three words I can sum up everything. I've learned about life: it goes on."

"There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."

Three very different quotes. The photo depicted here has said one of these quotes. This American actress, Mae West was more than an actress. She made a name for herself in vaudeville, but she was a playwright and screen writer. She was also the premiere sex symbol of her time. She far surpasses any other sex symbol, including Marilyn. Mae had class, and a set of' balls." No she was not a male in drag and had no male sexual organs, although many doubted that. Mae was born in Bushwick area of Brooklyn in New York. She is buried in Los Angeles. Her first movie was not until 1932--Night after Night, but few know she was a Broadway star since 1911. She did 3 revivals of her play, Diamond Lil.

The bottom of the page reveals her quote and the quotes of other notables.

Life is precious. Live life to the fullest each and every day. Each day is a new beginning.

Although green tea has been studied extensively, there has also been studies on the plant, Vitis ssp., also known as resveratrol . This is the red wine extract from grapes. Many individuals take this anti oxidant. Its health benefits have eluded scientists from some time. Recently this month in the HerbalGram from the American Botanical Council, an interesting papers appeared. The NIH (National Institute of Health) has been studying this herb. The NIH also has been studying other herbs as green tea, and curcurmin. It has been postulated that resveratrol promotes health by directly activating a protein related to caloric restriction called sirtuin 1. This is debatable when reviewing and studying others studies. There are others studies that depict another protein that is involved.

Scientifically it seems confusing to the general public, but the message is that even the NIH is studying the potential of herbs. This is a step in the right direction. I feel that Earth Mother has the answers to most if not all of the diseases of the world. Resveratrol is found in high concentration in the Japanese knotweed ( Polygonum cuspidatum). I use this herb in high concentrations for the treatment of Lyme disease.

If you do not take resveratrol, start taking it now.

Until tomorrow...

The quote by Mae is #1 " You live...

Quote #2 : Robert Frost

Quate #3 : Albert Einstein
