NOVEMBER 11, 2010 REMEMBERING VETERANS

~ Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul. ~
Michel de Montaigne

Can two women, veterans and a flower be linked ? Of course it can with a single Red Poppy Poppies are used to honor both Veterans' Day and Memorial Day but it more often linked with the latter. It all started with a written poem. The written word is so powerful. Sometimes I feel more than the spoken word. In WWI, a Canadian colonel, John McRae wrote " In Flander Fields" In the poem, Colonel McRae described the fallen soldiers on the Flander Battlefield. The Flander batterfields are located between Belgium and France. He described how poppies grow and bloomed among the rows and rows of graves. We then needed two women to take the initiative. These two women, Anna Guerin and Moina Michael worked to sell artificial poppies for the WWI cause. Today, their initiative still continues.

I often wonder the Poppy was selected. It is a beautiful flower. It is true that in war a soldier will have heightened stress thus epinephrine ( adrenaline) will be higher. Poppy does relieve tension and stress. So does Valerian which according to an Italian study was used as a tincture by the British during the WWII bombing of London.

I must prepare your immune system to get better. Do you ? During this time of the year, each of us get stressed over the upcoming Holidays. These are the 3 deadly sins: Thanksgiving, Christmas ( Hanukkah ) and New Years. What stress do you have during this time of the year? Family stress? Who is cooking? What to buy as gifts?

Here is your immune tincture to help you:

1/2 teaspoon of the following:
1. Echinacea
2. Siberian ginseng ( Eleuroococcus)
3. Asragalus Root
4. Licorice Root

Mix together and drink this twice a day from now until 4 weeks. This will prepare your immune system right before 2011.

The photographs above are the USS Monterey. Four young men were together
1. Pat Fratellone
2. Joseph Maimoni
3. Michael Hudak
4. Gerald Ford
All four are looking down from their ship in the sky...
Until tomorrow....
